Bahrain update: 2 August: Bahrain protests under “the right of self determination”Numerous peaceful protests have gone out calling for democracy and freedom, 3 of them were a called by 14 Feb Coalition in Bani Jamra, Bilad AlQadeem and AlDair under the name of “the right of self determination 12” all three grand protests have been suppressed violently, causing lots of serious injuries with birdshots. ₁Moreover, more than 35 protesters have been arrested after raiding their houses without an arrest warrant in the 3 villages; some were released after having a heavy beating meal₂. Also, Zainab AlKhawaja, senior member in BCHR and the daughter of Bahrain renowned Human Rights Activist, Mr. AbdulHadi AlKhawaja, has been arrested after protesting alone in AlQadam Roundabout by a civilian policewoman, who took her to Isa town police station and Zainab will be transferred to public prosecution₃.Mazen Mahdi, the journalist, has stated to BCHR “I’ve been stopped by riot police who beaten me, withdraw my media ID card and asked me to go to Budaiya police station immediately.”1.
