Bahrain update: 20 July: Bahraini women behind bars.
In contrary with human rights and women rights, Bahrain authorities keep Layla Isa Radhi, Fakhreya Ahmad and Eman AlDurazi away from their families without a reason. Bassam, 12, son of Layla told the story to BCHR “I was with my mother when she was arrested on our way to AlHamala. At the beginning, the policeman in Demestan’s checkpoint allowed us to pass through, but as we passed a police car followed us and threaten my mother to be shoot with birdshot gun, one claimed he was insulted by my mum.” She was taken to Isa Town police station, her sisters were threatened with arrest if they told anyone about the incident. Layla was transferred to the public prosecution without a lawyer.
Mercenaries have besieged and suppressed more than 72 protests around Bahrain₁, causing lots of injuries in Manama₂, Musalla₃, Jidhafs₄ and Zinj₅. Furthermore, 3 young men were attacked, beaten in Bani Jamra and Al Qadam by security forces who also stole their mobile phones.₆
Adnan AlMansi, a detainee, who’s tortured, sexually abused, raped and injured in his head causing him unconsciousness and inability to move his hands and leg. He was transferred twice to SMC this week due to the prison ill-treatment and the bad food they are serving the detainees, as BCHR has documented.
