Bahrain update : 18 July : Head of BCHR facing non-humanitarian treatment in the prison.
Alwefaq, Bahraini opposition society, expressed its concerns regarding the arrest of the former retired Colonel, Mr. Mohammed AlZayani, from his house without a warrant nor a reason₁. Also, MOI banned Alwefaq rally tomorrow morning in Manama.₂
Nabeel Rajab, head of BCHR, had his first appeal and it got postponed to 24 July, As his lawyer stated in her Twitter account, Ms. Reem AlKhalaf " After Nabeel's Rajab session, I sat with him so he can tell me about his conditions in prison. He told me that he's prevented to go to the clinic for examination, yet he has an allergy and it needs to be treated. Nabeel added, facing such non-humanitarian treatment in prison is a kind of punishment for defending human rights in Bahrain." ₃
Another man was directly shot in his left eye with a tear gas canister, his family expressed its deep concerns that he might lose his sight if he didn't get medical treatment.
A motor biker has been run over and arrested today by police car in Abu Saiba, as the eyewitness stated to BCHR. As well as, a child was attacked by riot police in Duraz₄ and many houses have been raided in Duraz, Al Dair and Juffair.₅
