26 June: In the International day in Support of Victims of Torture, torture continues in Bahrain.

1. In solidarity with Jaffer Salman and all those who lost their eyes for freedom in Bahrain due to government mercenaries shotguns, protesters in Sitra wore eye patches and asked for freedom. ₁


2.In the international day in support of victims of torture, the National Democratic Action Society “Waad” re-published their general secretary's statement regarding torture and mistreatment.₂ Bahrain Human Rights Society demands to prosecute torturers in Bahrain and bring them to justice. Both Sayed Yousif Almuhafda, Sayed Hadi Almusawi and Lawyer Mohammad AlTajjer have had a word there.₃ Talking about the lawyer, Mr. Mohammad AlTajjer, Public Prosecution has sentenced him to one month in prison, which he had spent already in the national safety period. ₄


3.Although, Bahrainies continue to have peaceful protests today, authorities continue to attack them and deny access to international rights groups.₅ and about 20 protesters were sentenced to one month for gathering in an illegal assembly and inciting hatred against the regime.₆


4.Nabeel Rajab, Human rights defender, faces the court tomorrow for the final hearing.
